Stitching and a freebie

The girls were here for stitching today and it was fantastic to catch up with them.... Cheryl suffers from asthma and picked up that someone somewhere was burning something!! Sure enough there was a pile of leaves alight at the top of the vacant block across the road....burning is not allowed at this time of the year due to the incredible dry spell we have had....it wasn't long before the local CFS crew turned up and the fire was out in no time....it was at the base of a large pine tree so could have been nasty if it had taken hold!

So after that bit of excitement we went back indoors and Cheryl sewed up a storm on her "new/old" Elna which which she purchased recently - just right for taking out for stitching days and classes.....

It was a great afternoon (as it always is when we get together).......Cheryl you won't be surprised to learn that while we were out saying goodbye to everyone Chelsea helped herself to what was left on the fruit/cheese platter......(Chelsea has a past history of stealing food - particularly expensive cheese!)

Have just been out in blog land and Anne at Bunny Hill is giving away a couple of fat quarter packs ..... so hop on over to be in the draw!

'Til next time...................Lorraine

Hi Lorraine!
Sounds like you had a great stitching day. (So jealous! Must organise my own!) Did I see right? Did you do 2 scrappy swaps? They both looked wonderful. I posted mine (received and sent) on my blog too! Hope you have a great week!

I came across your blog, after popping in a Mrs Martin's quilt shop this arvo. I just wanted to post a comment to say I love those 1940's magazines! And boy, do I so not measure up to that weight chart LOL.

Thanks for the peek!
