A tribute to a coach

Yesterday I went to watch Mark play football (I have been a bit remiss as this is his third game and the first I have been to this year) Prior to the start of the game there was a tribute to their coach, Mark Pitman, who died last year. "Pitty" was also a former coach of the Freeling Football Club where the game was played yesterday. He was a great character and will be sadly missed. His children sent red and black balloons aloft following a minute's silence. A very moving tribute to a man who had such a great influence in football in this area and in the lives of everyone who knew him.

I enjoyed reading your tribute. Our communities are so much richer because of those who volunteer their time and talents to others. I know my kids have grown in ways they never would have without their various coaches (and not all of that is to do with sport, either!).
