What is a perfect day?

I think yesterday would have to go close!! I spent pretty much the entire day in the sewing room and made this:

into this:

I have been promising to make Rhiannon a cuddly shaggy flannel quilt and yesterday was the day.......she is coming home later tonight so it will be a nice surprise...I hope she likes it!! In the past couple of days I also got my little quilt ready to send after attaching the label.........

......ooops a pesky bit of fabric must have fallen onto the label and you can't see who it is for...........

I have also been out and about to the shops, post office etc with my trusty "helper" ............which I bought a while ago......(the kids were mortified!)....and I came in for some teasing from work mates when they found out...................

......we live quite close to the main street for shopping, but it is quite a hike back up the hill if you are carrying bags so the "granny" trolley was the way to go....well I thought so anyway......as I said the kids were just mortified......but they don't have to carry the shopping up the hill.....and I enjoy walking to the shops as it is not only good for me but saves taking the car out! You can pack quite a bit into the trolley and it is easy to "drive" and environmentally friendly!

Last night I had a dream (nightmare?) about going back to work.....not actually going back as such, because I love my job, but in the dream none of my work clothes would fit......I flew out of bed at first light.....(first light is at 8.30 isn't it???).....and tried them on.....and of course they fitted....I haven't eaten that many TimTams in the last couple of weeks............anyway I will be definately going for that walk this afternoon and no excuses now I will be back at work on Tuesday morning........

A bit more time in the sewing room this morning, a bit of house cleaning and packing for our weekend away......can't say how I will be smuggling the stitching in as the Prince will read this......LOL.....the kids are house (and dog) sitting so better get some supplies in for them......

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing..........

'Til next time..................Lorraine

What is a Tim Tam??? Sounds interesting. Like something I might need to try. LOL
And my kids would have been mortified too if I used that trolley. But there kids that's what they are supposed to be right? They will understand someday.

Great to read you have had some productive time at the sewing machine. The quilt looks great, I bet Rhiannon just loves it. I think the trolley is a great idea. I'm not sure whether that is because I am getting a little bit older or whether it has something to do with the fuel bill I paid last week! Hope your having a great weekend.

How nice to be able to get some sewing done on your holidays! I love the shaggy quilt, I really must make one of those. I was only telling DH today about getting one of those trolleys so I can go to the markets on the train and do some shopping LOL

the quilt is gorgeous.
my granny trolley is far worse than yours - but i love it to bits. we are not far from the shops either and even if i had a car at home (which i don't) i would rather walk. i think they are a bit of a fashion statement here - all the alternatives use them. they just need to start making them in funky colours!
hope you enjoyed your weekend away. i was up your way this weekend - oh well, maybe next time.

Hey Lorraine, I have had one of those trolleys for years, I bought it to take to the annual quilt and craft show in Adelaide to hold all my loot, it also comes out when I go to the Central Market, they are no longer Granny tolleys so don't listen to those kids.
