Lazy Sunday afternoon................

....blogging on a Sunday afternoon! ......and a cold and wet Sunday afternoon it is! Steady rain this morning has cleared but the sky is grey and it is perfect weather for being inside by the fire!

.....stitching of course!!
I was supposed to go for a "sleepover" at Fiona's last night but by the time I signed in she was calling it a night!!....I promise to arrive earlier next time Fiona!! Looks like everyone had a great time tho.......I was stitching in the lounge room by the fire watching the Tour de France and when I braved the cold to come upstairs and log on.....Fiona was just posting her good night to everyone......!

I have been working on my Friendship Basket which is looking a bit like this now:

I have decided it will be a cushion instead of a wallhanging.....it is in the wash now to make sure the reds don't "bleed"......then a bit of quilting and it will be done.....and that takes care of #4......then on to finish #5....but given that this is the largest of the projects and I am back at work tomorrow then away for almost a week .....July will be done but not #5!! well I will give it my best shot and you never know I might get a chance to do some work on it.......although today I have also been doing this:

....using these:
..............yes you guessed it the cupcake swap......I have changed my mind so many times with this project but the mailing date draws closer and I need to get this done....but in the meantime I have finished this:

....and the colours are nothing like that really.....the borders and binding are a lovely soft red but it was the best I could do with the light today......I know Leanne ..... if it were summer.......don't worry...........it will be here soon enough!! but for now I am enjoying winter........

Next weekend is the three day workshop at Loxton.....so a three day work week then a few days off to play!! Looking forward to catching up with everyone again......... I really need to start putting a few things aside to pack.....I have the requirements so better look at what I need to take...wouldn't want to have to buy anything when I get there!! Now that would be a shame!

Picked up the Pfaff yesterday.....it has been away for a service/clean/repair and I am thrilled to have it back again.......looking forward to testing it out later with a bit of free motion quilting. Happy Jack has found his niche in my sewing room and is so far behaving himself....he sure has a cheeky grin......!!!

I hope everyone has a great week.....

'til next time.................Lorraine

Hi Lorraine, Love your Friendship Basket Im ashamed to admit mine didnt progress much past what I did in the class last year and after not seeing it for some time I actually found it today while I was searching for something else ..... so maybe you have inspired me to give it another go ... Thankyou!! I think you cupcake swap will be fantastic.
Well done on completing 4 of the 5 finish challenge ... you have done extremely well!!!

Today was the perfect day for stitching! I spent the afternoon in front of the heater with a project. I have been watching the Tour de France too and stitching! I can 'pelleton' it with the best of them now (that's me doing bike talk!) and my favourite thing is when the pelleton ride through a roundabout. I love the way they split!

Hey Lorraine! Your wallhanging looks fantastic! Isn't it frustrating when you take photos and the light changes the colours?! I now put all photos through Photoshop to put the right colours back! I have been slack with my challenge projects - got sidetracked making some pressies! Ah well, have finished two long-term quilt projects, so I think that's a pretty good result even if I don't get any more done this week! Can't wait to see your cupcake project! Bear Hugs! Oh my goodness, Lorraine I love, love, love your friendship basket - tell me more about it, please.

I'm still collecting goodies to send to my cupcake swap partner but I've been having so much fun, too.

Way to go on completing #4 finish.

Hugs from Miss Millie! She's been vewy, vewy quiet. I'm a bit worried. LOL

Hi Lorraine!
You have a lovely blog. As you were signing in and finishing watching Le Tour de France...I was just signing out and beginning to watch it. Isn't Cadel Evans doing a fantastic job?

Great job on the applique and the finish Lorraine. Love your little peek at the cupcake swap. I think I have an ideas as to what it is but won't give anything away.
Hmm you're sitting in front of a fire and we have our a/c cranked up to try and cool off.

The friendship basket is very sweet. Funny, I just designed a small quilt this morning as a project on my teaching website,http://www.simplequiltmaking.com - it's called Janet's Indigo Baskets and uses 19th century repro indigo prints.
