Projects and Thanks..........

I think you would all agree that time passes by too quickly........My two weeks holiday seemed to disappear in an instant........(and work days pass just as quickly)......Spring is here and already we are planning for Christmas......It seems I am always looking into the future at significant dates or events which makes the "now" just disappear..........not sure if I have explained that well!!.....having a blog is a great way of journaling...keeping track of what you are doing "now"........and it is also great to look back and see what has been going on in your life while you are busy looking ahead.......................!
I had a lovely time in the house on Monday - shifted lots of furniture around...marveled at the amount of dust that accumulates under things.......cleaned and enjoyed sitting back that night and seeing the fruits of my labour.....my sewing room was abandoned for the day......well not entirely because I was busy retrieving things from every corner of the house and returning them to the sewing room.....amazingly I had patterns, books, projects, thread....you name it - in almost every room!! .....so the sewing room has that "dumped on" look at the moment......but the weekend is coming! It is nice to be back at work - I love my job which makes it easier to go to each day......I am fortunate in that regard - I can't afford to retire so have to work......and it would be awful to have to get up each day and go to a job you dislike!!..............
Anyhoo.........yesterday I received a couple of parcels.....this one from Tara with my giveaway gift - three great patterns, a fat quarter, thread and some cute scissors...thanks Tara.....and Happy Jack....(remember that wonderful pincushion Tara made for me) says helloo0.....I have to say it is hard sticking pins in his smiling face...LOL..
I also received this little beauty from Darlene........ I just love the fabric in this and thank you Darlene for the bag and also your kind words...... - blogland is an amazing place!
Before I went back to work I had fun in the sewing room with some new patterns....a girl can never have too many patterns!!.......
I loved the journal covers on "Thelma's Day Out" from Janelle Wind.......I have made up a couple in different fabrics and they go together very quickly.....not sure about the buckle on the one on the right.....need to go shopping for buckles....!! I haven't made the bag which is also in the pattern yet.......(give me a break .... there are only 24 hours in a day!! )

I saw these little bags on Sharon's blog and ordered the pattern - Abby's Treasure Box by This & That......it arrived on Friday and I raided my zip collection (there were only two....up until these little bags I avoided zips like the plague!)......and whipped these up.........wow....they are so quick (and easy) to make and I am sure there will be many more ........ a cute little gift.....and very useful....!! I used a few charm squares that I have had sitting there for a while.......

............so the journal covers and the little bags are a couple of "finishes" .......a work in progress is Twelve Red Robins.....from the lovely Natalie at Cinderberry Stitches....I won the pattern on a giveaway on her blog and it has been sitting there...all traced and ready to stitch for a while ..... so the past couple of nights I have been working on it while I "watch" TV.....it is such a cute pattern! ..............and good luck to Nat who is expecting her first baby in a few weeks.....!

....so a few thank you's and a look at what I have been working on ......... for the three girls who signed up for my PIF......the gifts are almost done and will be posted soon.......!

Have a great week.....enjoy whatever you are doing....be it work or play!

'til next time...........Lorraine

WOW how exciting to pop over here and see that you have made a few of my Thelma's journal cover. They both look GORGEOUS - you have made my day. I love them both and they are both so different from each other too - great work. I think the buckle on the RH one matches really well too - great work and thanks for sharing them x Janelle
