Cyber Stitching and Secret Santa Christmas Swap

Yesterday Amanda hosted a cyber stitching day .......she also supplied some amazing afternoon tea in the form of lemon curd cup cakes......! ...along with more cakes and scones.......thanks Amanda....I will have to go to the gym twice a day this week!!

I did get some stitching done ............I chose the Christmas stocking to start on..................

........ok there is still a bit of work to do on this but it was a reasonable start given the amount of chatting that was going on ................!

A couple of people have emailed me to ask what Cyber Stitching is.......so in a nutshell......Karen from Mrs Martin's Quilt Shop offers "Cyber Stitching" twice a year.....it is advertised on her blog so have a look and you will see the details or email Karen for more information. It is a fun way for lots of people in all parts of the world to be working on projects at the same time.....like a workshop but the participants aren't in the same room.....I planned to take photos of my parcel but had pulled it apart before I realised I hadn't taken any pics! Viv Robinson was the guest tutor this time and the cyber stitching parcel included patterns for four projects along with starter kits for each of the patterns, a pattern from Hatched & Patched and some other fun things........great value.

Still on the Christmas theme I put the finishing touches to my SSCS today........and sent off a pic to the "Swap Mum" and let her know the parcel will be winging it's way to...????.............tomorrow......what tomorrow??.....and the deadline is Tuesday........finished with time to spare!! LOL.....here is a sneak peek........
Before and after stitching with the girls I caught up with Rhiannon and Jo and the babies.....Rhiannon was moving house and Jo was using the washing machine at the house because hers has "died"......and a washing machine is a "must" when you have a couple of babies in the house........it was good to catch up with them and of course it gave me a chance to hold little Ryley for a while.....not true that I wouldn't let anyone else!!

.......so there goes another weekend........another swap finished and the chance to start on some Christmas stitching of my own.......! December soon and that brings around my birthday month! woo hoo! .......oh and to my very patient PIF girls - I haven't forgotten you are next on the list!!
Hoping for a day off this week.......maybe Friday......off to the Patchwork Apple on Saturday with Cheryl (no blog) for a class to make a tea cosy........until then a busy week at work....!
'Til next time...............Lorraine
