Being out of bread can be a good thing...........

We were out of bread yesterday so I went to the bakery...............at Woodside.....it's only 45 minutes away.....and we do have a couple of bakeries within a kilometre but it was a nice day for a drive......and guess what...it is right next door to the Patchwork Apple..who would have thought!! So I got the bread and a couple of treats for the Prince and called in to see Jane.....had a great visit and found a couple of Blackbird Designs books and some fabric I needed to complete a project for one of the girls in my stitching group...we are having our "end of year" get together on Saturday....it became a beginning of the year function when we couldn't find a date in December that suited everybody! Still...any time is good to get together with friends....!

I was leafing thru the "When the Cold Wind Blows" book last night and I have found the quilt I just have to make......not sure when .....but it is definitely a "must do" project.........!

Finally made it into the sewing room today...although I had to clear a path to the machine and the cutting table......but it sure felt good to be in there!

'til next time..........Lorraine

I have wanted both of those books but haven't made the purchase yet. There sure are a lot of leves on that quilt. But then lots of the Blackbird Designs have millions of leaves!

That quilt is something I'd never attempt in a month of Sundays.
(Actually, I'd btter watch what I say. I said that about hand stitching a quilt, and guess what I'm making right now? I must be mad...)

Just ordered When the cold wind blows have also got Christmas Memories coming from US in the next couple of weeks (it is an old pattern bom that they have just had reprinted). Might have to get out the blackbird house book and finish that one before I start on another blackbird quilt but I love them all. Maybe this year will see me back to applique instead of stitcheries.
