Inspired ...........Stitches.....Inspired Intentions!

I have been looking forward to this weekend for a long time........and it was over in a flash!! Had a great time and got loads of stitching done.....ok .......that last bit is a fib! for me it was more a case of "Inspired Intentions" rather than "Inspired Stitches"!

This is the extent of my stitching........(and yes I was there for two days!)

....which I am sure would put me at the bottom of the "class" if we were being judged on sitching achievment......however......if we were judged on chatting.....I think I would be in the top ten percentile!! What a fab weekend......congratulations to Sarah and her helpers for their efforts in putting the weekend together.....the venue was a winner and being able to stay on campus was a plus.....! Saturday morning was a little overwhelming with everyone arriving....finding seats......shopping.....catching up with friends....meeting new friends.....shopping......working out what project to do.......getting started on the project .....and did I mention shopping!!???

Rosalie "I am loving having a microphone in my hand" Quinlan introduced the other tutors ....Leanne, Melly and Janelle who took turns in showing us the projects they would be teaching during the course of the weekend.................

It took me a while to make up my mind what which project to do........and in the meantime I caught up with Lynda who had flown in for the day from NSW - she and Diann (no blog) have been really helpful to me over the past few weeks with informaion on the quilting frame....aka "doover"......thanks girls and it was great to meet you Lynda! (.....check out Lynda's blog for a great rundown of the day! )

Saturday was the perfect day to be inside stitching with friends.......rain...something we haven't seen in a while here in SA .....fell for most of the day and it was our first taste of approaching winter.......no lunch on the balcony........!

Dinner on Saturday night was well attended.....I didn't stay late......I was tired ....I am a granny after all....! The units we stayed in were very comfortable - perfect for getting enough rest to make a return to the "classroom" on Sunday........here are a couple of pics from the weekend...complete with a photo op for some of the bloggers in the group..... this is Claire working very hard on her project by Melly..............

Kris, Leanne and Leanne!

Some of the bloggers who were in the group......Leanne, Amanda, yours truly, Dawn, Marc, Kris, Val and in the front Kelly and Claire ......

During the weekend Melly demonstrated the Shrinking Sheet (try saying that quickly) technique which gives a nice puffy/scrunched look to the piece......as in the bags Melly had made....I particularly liked the effect on the flap of the bag....(the pattern is called Mummy and Me)The girls spent time at the tables demonstrating the techniques used in their projects and were happy to pass on tips and answer any queries we had......and just have a chat! On Sunday Gail "I am here as a student" Pan attended and it was great to catch up with her.... and I think Gail did less stitching than me...!

Thanks Sarah for organising and hosting the event......no mean feat to pull it all together! .....and thanks to the Prince who had a lamb roast waiting for me when I got home tonight.....what a gem he is!

'Til next time.................Lorraine

What a fun time you had! Not too much in the way of a completed stitchery, but still . . . having fun is much more important, I think! LOL!
