Two weeks.......! Too long!!

It's been a couple of weeks since I posted.......time spent with family.......working.......but no stitching......or blogging! I am missing it! I have been reading a few blogs and commenting occasionally ......but that is about it. The past week I have been enjoying having one of my sister's stay with us......she lives in another state so to spend time with her is fabulous. Together with my other sister and brother we have been sorting thru Dad's things - something we have probably been putting off, but since his house has been sold it was something we needed to do. Not a fun task but since we don't get together all that often we enjoyed talking about Dad and remembering good times with him.

Kate is flying back to the Northern Territory on Monday and hopefully it won't be too long before we catch up again. Today we were up at sparrows f**t to go to a friend's house - the town where she lives was having it's annual garage sale..........a lot of people participate and which makes for a really good day! Cheryl and Ian are fantastic hosts and Ian had baked muffins and kept the coffee machine in constant use as he plied us with coffee and cake during the day......that was after the breakfast of bacon and eggs he whipped up on the BBQ
......the girls were eating on the run while Ian organised tea and coffee................!
...........there was still setting up to be done........ but there is always time for a photo opp!!

............later in the day we had a visit from this little chap.........he is being cared for by a wildlife rescuer since losing his mum..................

He was in a big patchwork bag lined with baby blankets to simulate a pouch.........after I took this he snuggled down and disappeared from view! Cute!!
It was a long day but we enjoyed it!
I have been buying a few patterns on the internet over the last few weeks..........not sure when I will get to making them up.......but things should get back to normal soon...and I am looking forward to the Easter break to get some stitching done........! Hopefully the few jobs we have planned for the house will get started after Easter with the kitchen floor being the first room in the house to be finished ....it means being without a kitchen for a couple of days but I am sure I will cope with that......! I have to pack up the cupboards in the rest of the house so the furniture can be moved out of the rooms as we do the floors...it will happen in stages so as not to be too much of a disruption.

The weather has been hot all week with a cooler change yesterday afternoon...I am sure Autumn must be almost here.....!! Some of the roses have had put in a last big effort and come up with some great blooms.....

Oh.......and some breaking news...........something fun is coming to "live" at my house soon....hopefully tomorrow! Can you tell what it is??????

Yep! It's a quilting frame.......Joy, a friend of my sister loaned it to her before Christmas and she set it up but hasn't used it.....I asked if Joy would be willing to sell it (after a bit of info from Lynda and Diann (no blog) who both have one of these "doovers" [Diann-speak for the frame].....)....and the "doover" is coming home with me tomorrow and with a bit of luck I will have it set up over Easter and get a chance to play with it! I can't wait!
So that's a bit of a catch up of what has been going on over the past couple of weeks......hopefully it won't be another two weeks before I get the chance to post again!
The Barossa is gearing up for the Vintage Festival over the coming weeks......during the festival there is a scarecrow theme with many houses and businesses making scarecrows and displaying them......my plan is to take a few photos of them to post next time...some people are very inventive!
.............and ..................love it or hate it......daylight saving ends tonight.......wooooo hoooooo! (does it show that I personally don't like it!) .......it has dragged on for way too long IMHO.........so back to "real" time tomorrow.......!
If you are still reading...........hop on over to Kellie's blog for a great giveaway......I was lucky enough to win one of Kellie's pillows previously and it is a work of art.....! Good luck!
'til next time........................Lorraine

Congrats on the quilting frame, sounds exciting for you. You are into autumn and here it's into spring. I love the changes in seasons but I love autumn the most.

So good to "hear your voice" again, Lorraine. You've been so busy, little wonder you've had no time to stitch! Loved the baby roo picture. Kangaroos are the school mascot -- for reasons no one can fathom -- and I'd never seena little one away from mom like that.

WV: seskeba, which I believe to be a booth of some sort where you go to get additional information, brochures, tickets, and perhaps mints

Hi Lorraine, your roses are beautiful. We had a front garden makeover in November and had plans to plant out 14 roses, but it was the wrong time of year to plant them so I'm still counting down until June when I can put them in!!
All the best with your floors, I'm sure you'll love them.

Oh! And yay for the end of daylight saving! So sick of it. Hey, did you hear that the government commissioned a report regarding the extension of daylight saving? It was written in December, before we even had the extension! Wonder what it concludes?

I know what you mean about taking a short break from blogging. After Nundle I was exhausted, just started back at it tonight.
Your little kangaroo looks content.
