A Finish and Some Progress..............

The weekend is about over .....AGAIN!.....I had a quiet Mother's Day......went out for brunch this morning and then spent the rest of the day in my sewing room so that was a pretty good "gift" I thought!......the binding is on Ryley's quilt......I was going to stitch it down tonight but ran out of "steam"..LOL.....I finished the bag I started last weekend for Rhiannon......I used Leanne's pattern.......

.........Leanne has been sewing bags to take to the supermarket since plastic shopping bags have been banned here in SA.............I made this for Rhiannon to take books/folders to school..............she is home for a few weeks while she completes her prac teaching in a local primary school..............I was pleased with it....it's a very roomy and sturdy bag so should stand up to a bit of use!

I am a bit behind with blog reading..........I have been stitching at night again instead of spending time on the computer........I have finished the stitchery on the doiley I started at Inspired Stitches, and was going to put it together today but after I finished Rhi's bag I worked on a quilt that has been sitting under my sewing table in a box "patiently" waiting for me to get back to it..... Emmy's Braids is a quilt I started in a class early last year........!

The applique was ready to stitch when I decided I might like to use green instead of white as the background for the qpplique.....so I ordered some green fabric......and that was 'it' for a while.......

I then decided that I would stick with the white background.......and still it sat.......! So today I got it out and have almost finished the applique (machine buttonhole).......just a couple of flowers and hearts left and the top can be put together.......it is nice to work thru some of the UFOs....and this is a pretty quilt (or it will be soon!)

Well......Monday morning will be here soon......another busy week with a couple of weeks leave coming up at the end of it......! Looking forward to that!

'Til next time.....................Lorraine

Lorraine, I am so pleased you pulled out 'Emmy's braids' I remember seeing that a while ago on your blog and thinking what a gorgeous quilt.... colours and design, it will be good to see it finished.
Love the bag for shopping or sewing goodies, well done on getting some sewing done.

The wekend is never long enough, (we need another day), I've just caught up on all my blog reading, it takes a while. The bags look great, I must try and make some more soon, they look so much more attractive than the "green bags"
happy stitching

So glad you had such a lovely mother's day! I was going to spend the day sewing, but ended up having a couple of naps instead! All good! I actually managed to finish my inspired stitches stitchery last night, but have yet to make it up. I think I NEED ricrac before I can do that. Hmm... I think I feel a trip to a patchwork shop coming on...

You definately do the right thing by spending your time in the sewingroom instead of in front of the computer! You have some lovely projects there.
