Christmas in the Hills 2009

This morning I set off for Lobethal for Christmas in the Hills....Jane from the Patchwork Apple did a brilliant job (aided by her girls and Sara) in hosting the day and dressing up the venue ..... Serena provided fab food and Rosalie Quinlan was our tutor for the day........I think everyone who attended enjoyed the day....I know I did!

A sample of the goodies on offer for morning and afternoon tea.........I forgot to take pics of the lunch.....!

Loved the snowman cupcakes!! but it was hard to pick a favourite.....everything was amazing!

Rosalie was happy to show us some samples of her new fabric line......."Grandmother's Flower Garden" ....pop over to Rosalie's blog to find out more....and there is a giveaway!! One lucky lady today won a bundle of fat quarters from the new range.....and no we didn't mug her in the car park on her way out!

Jane had plenty of goodies in the shop to tempt us......including kits for Helen Stubbing's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas" BOM........and yo-yo "tinsel"....(seen wound on the bobbin in the picture below).......

This is the view from the shop on the stage.........the only reason I went to the shop section was to take photos......well....that's my story and I am sticking to it........!!

Kris saved me from myself by buying the French General:Home Sewn book......! Thank you Kris!!

I even did some stitching......there were several projects on offer for the day........Rosalie presented some of Leanne Beasley's projects as well as her own.........

Thanks Jane for putting on a fabulous day......I know it wasn't without a couple of "minor" hitches...LOL....define "minor"...!! but it all came together on the day .....I will leave you tonight with a pic of Jane (aka Precious)......

...........and of course thanks to Rosie who did a fab job of getting around to everyone and sharing her knowledge.....great to catch up again...and congratulations on the fabric range......just delightful!

Reno update: the painter has finished apart from the passage as we decided it needed new cornice and a ceiling rose .....which meant recalling Mr Gyprock......who will be here tomorrow....won't be long now!!

'Til next time.....................Lorraine

Gee you are organised Lorraine! Can't believe you've blogged this already! I came home and finished off the heart hanger. Was a great day and just what I needed to escape the everyday domestic stuff. Thanks for sharing the photos!
Keep smiling,
Nell

Thanks Lorraine for the beautiful pics of the food - Donna Hay eat your heart out! A few ladies were asking "what I do". I run a cooking school with a twist in Lobethal, The Hills Market Kitchen. Check out our website www.adelaidehillsmarket.com. Thanks again for the lovely photos.
Ihave vowed to spend a little less time cooking and take up the needles again.
