A Date with Rex.......to party with George!

( ..........oh....and the Prince was there as well...........!!)

......this morning we met up with "Rex" who took us to Port Lincoln so we could party with George..........

..........it is a 70th birthday party but I am not sure where the years have gone because as far as I am concerned George is still the handsome young man who married my Aunty 40+ years ago......here are the happy couple back on their wedding day......and the dark haired young girl wishing them the best of luck in their lives together is me....!! (actually I was insanely jealous of my Aunty!) LOLOL

The party is tomorrow so today we spent some time with Mum and visited a couple of places near where I grew up.........a memorial park which included a couple of names of members of my family who served in WWI......a pretty cold and lonely place which I don't think sees many visitors .................

Just down the road from the memorial park is this Hall..........built in 1908!

.......when I was little this hall seemed huge.....this is where we attended strawberry fetes.......and gathered for dances and where Santa visited at Christmas time to deliver presents to the children of the district.....! I can remember sitting around the big decorated pine tree eagerly waiting for my name to be called! A little trip down memory lane..........! Funny how everything seems so much smaller when you are "grown up"!!

Looking forward to the birthday lunch tomorrow.....and a smooth flight home in the afternoon!

'Til next time...............Lorraine

That plane looks positively huge LOL. The weather here was good hoping it was the same in Tumby.

Walk down memory lane - it looks like a treat. The wedding couple do look handsome. How blessed you are to be able to travel back to the area and that you have wonderful memories of the hall. Santa's visit and all.

Wishing you a peaceful weekend and a safe flight home.
