Do you think I was worried????? A drill....a new plaster ceiling rose and some electrical wires? But .............it was all good.......
You may remember (or not!)...that the dining room ceiling used to look like this.............
After the installation of a new ceiling.....new cornice and a ceiling rose.....it looks like this.........
...........I know....I need to get a life.......getting excited over a ceiling....LOL...but it has made such a difference to the room.....! All the disruption has been worth it....I will post some pics once we have all the rooms back together again! I think the only room I didn't spend any time in today was the sewing room......I just ran out of time......and energy!! Hopefully I will have some stitching news soon!....................have a great week.
Til next time......................Lorraine

I'd be excited too! Beautiful new ceiling. Sometimes it's the "little" things that thrill us the most. I know you'll be glad when it all done!!!
Wow, big difference!!! Just love your light too :o).
Hugs,
Joy :o)
That looks really good. It will make the room seem so much bigger and brighter.
Hooray for you and DH! I first saw the picture of the drill and hand on the ceiling and thought oh, wow, Granny Loz. Sure enough it was you and wonderful before and after pictures.
You made wonderful choices. Very classy indeed and it will be a joy to live in a room like that.

The new ceiling and rose looks much more in keeping with the rest of the room. I like doing renos but I hate all the cleaning up, dusting etv
Very elegant finishes, there, Lorraine. It is always the "period" on the end of the project that makes it so satisfying, isn't it? Glad you're coming to the end of the chaos and get to enjoy your lovely refurbished surroundings.
Not sad at all! How good does that look! (Makes you wonder what the reno doers who put the other ceiling in were thinking!) It must be so nice to not only get back to "normal" but for it to be so much prettier than normal!
Same happened at our place a few years ago - exept I broke off a little bit of the edge of the ceiling rose (was able to be glued back on and covered with plaster). Your new ceiling is lovely and you will gaze at it for quite some time.
It looks fantastic no wonder you are pleased with it. I agree there would have been doubt in my mind with that combination drill, electric wires and a ceiling rose. How is your CPR? Now.... as a tradie's assistant did you have some crack showing LOL.
Lorraine the ceiling is gorgeous, shows off that light beautifully, a lovely finish...
Oohh I Love it...it is Gorgeous...Love those Ceiling Roses...Great Job.
cheers
Oh, that is definitely a ceiling worth getting excited over!
Your a hoot Ms. Lorraine with you opening on your post. That looks so pretty and I totally get it about being excited on those little things - sometimes it's those things that make your room POP.
Hugs - Karen
I love your new ceiling! It must be an "uplifting" feeling! (sorry, couldn't help it)
Your new ceiling looks terrific. Was the old wooden ceiling removed first or left under the new ceiling? We have lots of rooms that need the same treatment.
You are entitled to be excited... its great when your plans work out as you want... hope you get some stitching done on the weekend...
I love that ceiling pediment. We have a few at our house. Love them. What a huge difference it makes.
Love the new ceiling Lorraine! I would be excited too - only one thing missing ---- the roses need to be painted different colours!! LOL
It is coming back together!! Yahoo, and looks wonderful.
