It's in the bag.....................

Before Christmas I paid a visit to Jane at the Patchwork Apple.......and I came home with this.......

.....that would be a paper bag...an empty one at that....and shortly it will be going back with (hopefully) a completed block in it.........I have joined Jane's paper bag swap ......and the fact that the date for the first round of the swap is fast approaching meant I had to get my act together and think about what I was going to stitch.........
I was blog hopping over the Christmas break and Wendy posted a pic of a little quilt she had finished....it featured a snowman collecting snowflakes.........the order went off to Crabapple Hill and the pattern arrived last week.......problem solved.....the snowflake angel is "under construction" and will be back in about six months ready to be quilted.....it will of course be different to the pattern but the stitchery is what drew me to it in the first place....in the meantime I will be working on the other quilts in the swap.....which means I will have to go to see Jane at least once a month to drop off and pick up the paper bags........no hardship there!!

I had decided not to participate in any swaps this year.......but since this one was started last year it doesn't count!! Well...that's my story and I am sticking to it! Not much stitching happening apart from the bit of stitching you see above.......I went back to work last week and it has been busy....my exercise routine has continued over the Christmas holiday and beyond...three mornings a week at Curves with the treadmill coming into play on the other mornings.....the weight and cms are slowly coming off...... and I feel better for it.....

I have seen lots of new year resolutions etc on blogs.....I am not big on setting too many goals but I like the idea of choosing a word for the year...and mine would have to be "achieve"......I have a long "to do" list of stitching and would like to achieve some finishes this year.....I also want to achieve a better work/life balance (less time spent at work/more life) .....those two will do for starters.....

Til next time...................Lorraine

I LOVE snowman - although I'm ready to pack those suckers away - to long of winter already - anyway I digress, your project is adorable and I love that your weak like me - shopping together wouldn't be good, LOL.

Hope your doing wonderfully - Karen
