Back to work.....take two.......

I did go back last week.....but came home just after lunch on Friday after contracting some virus lurgy thing which left me feeling pretty awful......I don't deal very well with being ill......I tend to employ the "wounded animal retreating to its lair" method of dealing with it.....so off  I went......and spent the weekend resting and licking my wounds (so to speak) - thought I would be fine after a couple of days but it wasn't until Tuesday morning I emerged from the lair and went back to work.  Rose hasn't been too impressed with the fact that our morning walks have been temporarily suspended....back into it tomorrow - I have promised!  Last week (before I fell foul of the lurking lurgy) I was taking a different route on our walks to avoid spiders which make their webs between street trees and fences/hedges and tripped up on an unfamiliar bit of road and fell over.....You probably felt the earth move where you live??  A skun knee and wounded pride were the only "injuries"..and they have pretty much healed now.  ....but the spiders are way more scary than the thought of falling over in the dark - I will take that any day over walking through a web and not knowing if you have the spider on you somewhere.......eeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuw!  Daylight saving finishes on Sunday so I will be getting up and walking in daylight again......for a while at least until winter gets here........

The couch time hasn't been all wasted....I did manage to finish the stitcheries from day two at Port Pirie.......

Rosalie's......

and  Melly's.........(only the stitchery at this stage......still have to make the bag!)

Caught up with Deb and Yvonne for "show and tell" with our Civil War Legacy quilts.....a couple of borders to go and we are done...........Yvonne's is top left.....mine on the right and Deb's bottom left.....

Speaking of things Civil War.......I have managed to fall a bit lot behind with my CW Blocks of the Week...so Sunday's task is to catch up.  .......along with some work in the garden...recent rain followed by sunshine has seen the front yard sprout a lovely crop of weeds......and tonight I spotted two leaves on the trees in the front that have "turned".....yikes.....it really is Autumn!  I am probably lying about the gardening on Sunday....I think it will be fine for a while longer while I get some stitching done.  Catching up with some bloggy friends on Saturday.......looking forward to that!

Rose decided to air some dirty laundry (literally) the other day.......here I was feeling really ill...(and really sorry for myself!).....I was at the kitchen sink (so my tears of pity could drain away easily...LOLOLOL - I am hilarious aren't I???)  and looked out to see something on the back lawn....well...lots of "somethings" actually.....on closer inspection it was obvious that the entire contents of the dirty laundry basket had been removed and scattered all over the back garden.......oh she was proud of herself......!!  No harm done except for one work shirt that had one sleeve chewed .......it was an old one (luckily not  the new one I had only worn once!) .......and I thought falling over would have provided a laugh to anyone watching........seeing me picking up my knickers from the garden would have surely raised a giggle!!

I realised the other day that this month is the three year anniversary of starting my blog......it's been an interesting three years and I have made some wonderful friends through my blog........I am really pleased I ventured into blogland - it's been a fascinating journey to date!

The weekend is almost upon us again......I am hoping it will be better than the last one!

Gratitudes:
Feeling well
Rose (although she looks after sick people about as well as I do!)
bloggy friends

'Til next time..............................Lorraine

Where to start ???

I'm glad you're feeling better Loz. It's no fun at all being sick. I also subscribe to the wounded animal type of recovery from illness.

Oh my goodness...that stitching is inspiring. Completely wonderful.

I'm glad you wandered into Blogland too - because it gave me a chance to meet you.

Im sure Rose was trying to help...maybe.

What a week you've had! I've seen those spider webs in Sydney, and if you're referring to St. John's Cross... I'd keep my distance too! They're intimidating!

I absolutely LOVE your stitcheries, and totally covet that purse. I've looked at an online US shop and the purse pattern isn't available yet. I think you were fortunate to get a brand new pattern before it even went to spring (US) market.

Please do take care of our friend, Loz. No more stumbles, and let's get back to good health, okay?

Sorry you got sick--staying home for that reason is never desired! Glad Rose was able to add charm to your day :)

Love the stitcheries!

Happy Blog Anniversary--how great that you have kept it up all this time. I'm a bit behind you, having just had my 2nd :)

Glad you are feeling better it was probably the shock of going back to work that gave it to you. The stitchery looks lovely, Sue is nearly finished her's too. I did a bit last night as I have finished the other project I was working on. Picked up some nice fine linen to do the Melly one the other day and ordered black cosmo thread and the seasons to do the big stitchery pattern that I bought of Rosie's to stitch when I have a minute.

Sorry to hear that you have been under the weather. But you were able to do some wonderful stitching regardless.

You have ups and downs in your three years in Blogland but are up and going strong now. And I am happy to have met you via our blogs.

It's not nice to catch those bugs-takes too much out of you. I had a laugh about Rose- funny how we can find it amusing when it is someone else's dog but when it is your own- grrrh!, We have also had our moments with our 1 year old golden retriever who had a particular fondness for socks.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell and to read of your fall. Glad you're on the mend. You are very brave to go out walking in the dark with the spiders. I do a crazy dance if I walk through a web as I have a bit of a phobia about spiders!

glad to hear youre feeling on the mend - although not sure if it was a deliberate ploy to get another weekend of stitching in...mmm...wonder if that will work for me.

Lovely stitching!

I wondered a little what you were up to. Just a little because I have been busy driving, driving and then doing all the things I have to do when visiting Adelaide. Just about finished with all the obligations and looking forward to going to Val's tomorrow for the fun! I even have stitching to do.

Oh my. So funny! At least she didn't chew up your knickers.

What an eventful time you've had, Lorraine - too eventful by half. I'm glad you are on the mend now; hope it is sunshine and flowers all the way from now on. Your retreat sounds lovely. I chose that stitchery of Rosalie's to do at the gathering in Hobart in Saturday; didn't do much stitching but had a ball anyway. Take care.
