A farewell, finish, fiftieth, footy and fun with a friend

The weekend bought all of the above and some pretty foul weather as well.........the farewell....the "doover".....has gone to live with Nay...and it's only an hour away so I have visitation rights.......

The finish.........
This (to date) UFO has been around for about four years......it is now with the young recipient who is a big fan of earthmoving equipment.....not the best pic in the world but the weather hasn't been the best for outdoor photo shoots........

Saturday night I was invited to help Wendy (no blog) celebrate her fiftieth birthday...I work with Wendy and she is my go-to girl .....would be lost without her!  A few of us got together and bought her a Pandora bracelet and some charms.......which she was opening in this pic....note the dress?? This dress was her 30th birthday party dress and she wore it as a dare........90's taffeta.....nice!!  She did change out of it after a while.....after some nagging from her daughters!

The footy.........I like to go and watch Mark play on Saturdays and this was taken a couple of weeks ago .....took the thermos for a half time cuppa - forgot the milk so had to have it black...I always take the paper and some stitching but rarely read or stitch.....too busy concentrating...LOL......oh and that just happens to be my boy in the pic in the footy budget......

and fun with a friend......well....this would have to be with my little mate Rose......I was watching the footy (on TV this time) and she has taken ownership of the ottoman (sp?) (will check it later.....running late for work now!).......so my feet have to share it with her.........

Who couldn't love that face !!

Time I wasn't here.........I need to go to work....I splashed out and spent a truck load of money on myself yesterday........what did I do...?

........I went to the dentist!  (and last week had my two yearly check with the optometrist...$$$)....yikes....no wonder I will have to work until I am at least 90!!!

'Til next time.........................Lorraine

Rose has got to be the prettiest dog ever!

At least you have visitation rights so you can still use it when you are desperate. Rose is very pretty sitting there. I'm loving having a puppy again. They are so much company when no one is around and they don't answer back.

Oh how I love your Rosie ... those eyes just melt me ;o). Love the earth-moving quilt - isn't it a satisfying feeling to finish a UFO ;o).
Hugs,
Joy :o)

Rose has to sit/lie there so she can keep an eye on you and also use those very handy legs as a head rest. Not looking forward to my check-up with the optometrist, multifocals are sooo expensive

I get to be 50 in another 6 months but thank god I don't have any 90's taffeta to wear (oh, wait, I do! Dress I made to weaer to DH's high school reunion!)

Glad you got that UFO finished, it is adorable, and so is Rose, of course. Footy doesn't have many quiet moments for stitching, obviously :)

Good on Wendy for wearing her dress! It's great to finish off a UFO - 4 years isn't so bad. Beautiful photos of Rose

Lovely post. I thought at first glance you had dressed Rosie with some pink leg warmers!!

Ha- have done all that earlier this year- all the checkups that need to be done- am waiting now for the reading glasses to be made so hopefully I can see a bit better when i am stitching. I also thought Rose may have been wearing the pink stripes until I scrolled further down and all was revealed- she must be great company!!

Gosh. I wish I was a photogenic as Rosie. You can't take a bad picture of her!

I used that same panel to make a quilt for my grandson! I didn't have the border fabric though. Yours looks wonderful.

Rose is just so sweet. Looks like butter wouldnt melt in her mouth. I know better-I haven't fogotten the great washing debacle where you ended up with your unmentionables all over the back yard.

Looks like a good time was had at Wendy's 50th. I'd forgotten the fascination we had with taffetta in the 80's and 90's.

When you mentioned footy I thought you were going to talk about that OTHER game. Mr. P is still not over the loss.

The money was well spent. We need those eyes to keep our hands busy. Rose has grown and I believe is more beautiful with age.
