.....so do the lawn mowers, the bees and the gardeners.......oh...and that includes me now...'cause I fancy myself as a gardener these days.........I put the green bin out this morning and then decided to weed the back garden ........I didn't plan to spend time in the garden today....but one thing leads to another and when I wandered out the back to cut some foliage for inside suddenly I was weeding, and cutting back stuff........the green waste truck hadn't picked up the bin yet....so it was soon full with the weeds and prunings from the garden.....then it was time to fill in all the little holes in the lawn that madam Rose has dug over the past little while......pick up all the leaves and sticks from the lawn and pavers and give it a final sweep.......have a chat over the back fence with the young couple next door and by then it was mid afternoon.......and time to come in and start on the inside! .....so that was my Saturday! No stitching done...but it's very satisfying to look out and see a weed free garden and a tidy lawn.
I had a late lunch and cuppa and watched the footy.....(.......go the 'Pies!) and did the vacuuming and dusting and cleaned the bathroom during the breaks in the game.......
Rose is exhausted after her busy day........"helping" in the garden by stealing weeds and sticks out of the bucket and running through piles of carefully swept up dirt and leaves sure takes its toll!
Those eyes are now closed and there is gentle snoring coming from the couch! The late nights I have been keeping as I watch Le Tour have meant I have almost finished another set of Tis the Season stitcheries over the past few nights.......
More red and white.......yikes I can't seem to shake the red/white habit!
While I was in the garden this morning the bees were enjoying the sunshine and keeping busy.....
I have had a "busy bee" kind of day......and it feels good! Somehow I think there may be more snoring coming from the couch tonight.....LOLOL......although I would like to finish the TTS stitcheries and watch the next stage of the Tour........watch this space!
'Til next time..........................Lorraine

it was a glorious day today...I too spent some time weeding and pruning... now for a sit in front of the tv and stitch... even with a few sore fingers from all the thorns...LOL
Hugs Dawn x x
The sun was lovely but wasn't it cold. I don't think I warmed up all day. If you feel like doing some extra weeding I have plenty.
My goodness, you made me tired with all that work! Love your stitcheries and I want to give Miss Rose a kiss on her nose!
xx, shell
Agreeeeeeee finally got last saturdays washing dry, as well as todays, put the primer on the floor on Nays Place and tomorrow will get the final coat on the floor then to start building the shelves and move in. Is that the Civil War quilt I see over the chair behind Rose...your photo is lovely and I love the hanging frame you got from your friend Val. Nice to see some sewing again and I see no reason in redwork -love red. Catch up soon Nay
You would have enjoyed today's game (Look at me talking football) since the pies won. (Had a friend who went to the game and duly reported back on the way home!)
It was cold here, but we did have some sun. I sat outside in it for a little while inbetween emptying the last pod of our stuff.
Isn't it crazy how one little thing leads to another and it's great when it's done because you didn't plan on it, lol. So I hope you slept well because I think little sweet pea did.
Hugs - Karen
I love weekends when you get so much done...nice feeling of accomplishment! Your stitching is wonderful!
Sounds like a pleasant and productive day! Good you got your Vit D dose, a tidy garden, and some entertainment a la Rose. Enjoy!
Busy days like that are good for the soul! What a gorgeous face Daisy has, like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth!!! Did you have a snooze in the chair??
Wasnt the weather beautiful? A gem in an otherwise revolting week weather wise really.
So glad Rose was on hand to "help". Little P was "helping "me last night with all sorts of things. I was sooooo glad when he went to bed. Ahhhh the joys of babysitting.
Look at all that stitchy beauty! You go girl! I really must get moving on those blocks for MY quilt.
It sounds like you had a day that puts me to shame, considering how little I get done most days.
Oh my, Miss Rosie's face! -- it's a portrait, not just a snapshot. She's a beauty and a gal's best friend. (Even the best of friends snore.)
We had a miserable day here in Queensland. Only good for stitching & watching TV. Nothing wrong with red & white - i love it. :) Your stitcheries are looking great. Happy Stitching,
Wonderful pictures of the bees. I've been gardening too, but here it's HOT! :-)
Yes, Saturday was a beautiful day, I never thought to get out into the garden (it needs it too) but stayed inside doing odds and sods. I can never keep my eyes open to watch the finish of Le Tour each night :) I head off to bed with about 20k to go.
I just love Daisy!!! Pretty pictures.
We spent the weekend in Melbourne and went to the Carlton v Collingwood game! Quite speccy to be there with such a huge crowd but Pffft!!! stupid Carlton!! It is so frustrating sitting way up high (nosebleed seats) and being able to see the preferred passage of play and have the player kick the ball in the complete stupid opposite direction and straight to an opposing player! Hey, and I don't even like footy!
My garden is so run down and neglected - I just don't know when I will get to it! Maybe weekend after next if the weather fines up a bit. Fffreezing today, eh?
Joolz
Are you making Miss Rose work too hard? What a busy day you had.
