I finally found some........

mo·ti·va·tion (moh-tuh-vey-shuhn)

noun:
1. the act or an instance of  motivating or providing with a reason to act in a certain way
2. the state or condition of being motivated
3. something that motivates, inducement, incentive

I had plenty of it when I was in bed on Saturday morning planning my day........but as soon as my feet hit the floor.....*poof* there it went.....into the ether somewhere.....I had an early appointment for a hair cut.......(never need any extra motivation to do that)........but instead of coming home and starting on my plans for the day I decided breakfast out would be nice....so armed with the paper and a couple of magazines I wandered in to the cafe and enjoyed a scrummy breakfast of poached eggs and bacon, orange juice and a mocha.  I read the paper, looked thru the magazines and had another mocha........then headed home to start on one of the (many) jobs I had planned.  Hmmmmm.......maybe I will just check my emails......maybe a couple of blogs.....Facebook......... Words with Friends......oh....it's lunch time!  Might just sit down and see what is on TV while I have lunch.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!  There went most of the afternoon!!!  I did start on re-organising the linen cupboard....a bit like saying you are spending time re-organising your sock draw really.  Then my sister phoned.....and that was it for the linen cupboard! .....but Sunday is another day ....right?

And Sunday I found it.......motivation! Yay!!  I still planned the day in my head before I got out of bed...but the difference was I got straight into the planned stuff instead of being side tracked by "other" stuff.  I was a machine!!  ......and by mid afternoon I had accomplished most of what I set out to do........then it was off to the shops to get supplies for dinner and home to cook it.....

So....no stitching to show you.......I haven't felt much like stitching either.....but I can show you what I made for dinner.....Chicken pie.......this is before it went into the oven

and this is after it came out.....

if you are looking for pie pastry perfection this probably wouldn't pass the test....but I loved the rustic look!  ..............and it tasted great!  ....and the best bit...it was dead easy to make!

Speaking of making things......I bought two flat packed cupboards for my sewing room last weekend.......had to get Mark to come and help me get them out of the car.....and I thought I would put them together......made a good start....that is I got them unpacked....and unfurled the instructions...yes....it's a big sheet of them.......and began......that's when it all went horribly wrong.....I shifted one of the pieces and managed to slice my finger open......so that was that for my DIY project........have a friend coming over tomorrow night to lend a hand..I think she has a degree in flat-pack-piecing....well I am hoping so because I certainly don't. Watch this space!

14 - the number of working days until I go on leave! (not that I am counting of course)

'Til next time..................Lorraine

Your Saturday is my fantasy day...but I fear it will be a long time before I enjoy one like it. Good luck with the furniture assembly!

Well Saturday sounds like the perfect day to me too. Just not the one you had planned I guess. That pie does look delish and I thought it looked perfect too! Boo for the aggressive flatpack! I am hoping to get a couple of flatpacks myself later this week. I am kind of a professional flatpacker though so it should be all good! I have been sewing clothes, but nothing else. I keep seeing pretty stitcheries on pinterest and wondering why I have nothing on the go at the moment. Perhaps I'm lacking a little mojo in that department!

It wants me to prove I am not a robot. Gosh, it's a machine! If it can't tell who can?

So long as it tastes good, it doesn't matter so much what it looks like.

When I want to get things done, I don't even turn the computer on, otherwise I'll just have a little peek and then as you found out, oops it's lunchtime.

It sounds like it all came good in the end, hope your flat pack construction went well, they're not my favourite thing to do, it's funny though - we can put a quilt together, no problem, but put a flat pack together and that's a different story.

My whole life is like your Saturday...

Glad you kicked Sunday's butt. There isnt a thing wrong with the look of that pie as far as Im concerned.

Flat pack furniture was invented by someone with a wicked sense of humour. There are only 8 people in the world that can successfully put that stuff together ....
