It's been a snotty kind of week.......

I mentioned in my previous post that I had contracted some kind of lurgy.....ended up taking another day off work and I think the cotton wool is finally leaving my head and I am starting to feel much better.....these were my constant companions all week......

Not much of anything got done last week.....didn't have the energy to tackle too much around the house and didn't feel like stitching......checked a few blogs and emails during the time I was home from work and as I sat at the kitchen table I could see an army of tiny ants making their way across the kitchen bench and into the pantry.....just didn't have the energy to deal with them...so hope they got their winter stocks in while I was feeling ill.....because their days (hours) are now numbered!

Leanne posted about the photo Scavenger Hunt she is taking part in on Kathy's blog - I think it's a great idea and have taken down the list for February.....have a couple of topics crossed off so far!  Will see how I go with the rest.

I did get some stitching done yesterday and last night......finished 5 little birds which will become needle cases.......eventually......I got out of my comfort zone and used some colours I don't use very often....the blues especially.......these will go into my gift box once they are done........

Here's one I made earlier.... :) - Another of Gail's patterns - it makes up really quickly.....love it!

I was thinking the other day that I hadn't  posted pics of my SSCS gift which I sent to Shiree in NZ.........I was reminded when Chooky posted about the gifts she had made......I enjoyed stitching Leanne Beasley's Sew Laugh Love pattern using a range of colours to tie in with the Ruby fabrics I used in the applique pieces.  I would like to make one for myself so must get it traced and ready to go.........will add it to my "to do" list......

I also sent this table runner - it's a  pattern I have had for a few years - it's simple and fun to make.  I know I am late posting the pics.......can't believe we are into February already!!

Back to feeling "normal" this week hopefully.  .....haven't been walking in the mornings for a few days....I am sure Rose will be happy to be getting back to walking again.

'Til next time.....................Lorraine

Glad you are on the mend. I am going to have to start a present box, madly stitching at the moment for a present in february and I don't like the stress. Have a good one.

Hope you are feeling better soon Lorraine! You have very lucky friends - love the blue birdies and that Leanne Beasley pattern is on my "one day...'list!
p.s. you wouldn't believe it but my word verification was "gargle" - so did you? I can thoroughly recommend the betadine throat gargle to get rid of lurgies LOL
