Told you I would be back!

well......I am pretty much settled back in to my "normal" life...(whatever "normal" is!)  The Christmas decorations are up (although I must admit I have only put out about a third of them.....I am sure they are multiplying in the tubs while they are in the shed during they year....well.....I guess it is pretty boring for them....only getting out once a year!

Having said I have way too many decorations I must admit the tree is sporting a few new "baubles" .......Cardy bought me the beaded Texas longhorn in Houston.....

The NY Taxi.....from ....you guessed it...New York......

.....and this one from Harrods .........

Rose was kinda bored with the whole decorating thing.....

We have had some stormy weather over the past couple of weeks......with some interesting skies........

While I was away everything green turned brown......I really must get out and take more photos ....I live in a wonderful part of the world.......

So to stitching.......I spent yesterday in the sewing room......I haven't had a chance to get in there since I got home.....I was working to a deadline..yep.....earlier this year (very early) I signed up for a Christmas swap with Mrs Martins Quilt Shop......seemed like a great idea at the time!  Plenty of time to get everything done......so I made a start mid year.....then took a bit of a break with about half of the list ticked off.......got a move on to almost finish before I went away....asked for an extension which was granted....and I finished yesterday.....will be in the post tomorrow to Clare in NZ.

I will post some pics once I know Clare has received the parcel.........

I really enjoyed spending most of the day in the sewing room amongst my "stuff".....I was trying to decide if I would clean and do the floors before I got into sewing....picked up the cereal container and dropped it on the floor.....floors it is!!!  It was a race between the vacuum cleaner and Rose as to who picked up the most cereal!

Saturday morning saw the kitchen being readied for a baking spree......Rhiannon came up and we spent the day baking goodies for her class.......even the Harrods apron got a run!!

Sugar cookie dough made the night before made the bases for these little guys....poor melting snowmen ......

They were fun to make......little choccy berets and all!

Loved having Rhi here for the day.....she cooked up a storm with gingerbread snowflakes....

.....and stars.......

Here she is all packed up and ready to take her goodies home....

so......work....a bit of socialising.....spending time with family...and some stitching....pretty much sums up the past couple of weeks......I have been having early nights and catching up on sleep as well......Rose was a bit miffed the other night when I told her it was time to bed and it was still light outside...LOL......there is nothing on TV this time of year...so early nights with a good book is a great alternative....who am I kidding.....I only get a few pages of the book read before I fall asleep  :)   ....and 3.30am is a good time to get up isn't it??? Thankfully I seem to be finding a much better sleep pattern in the past few days......just as well...one needs to be well rested for the upcoming Festival of Loz!

Looking forward to the break over Christmas ......there will be a new jigsaw to be done.....cricket to watch...and Christmas cake to be eaten...... can't wait!

'Til next time..............Lorraine

Much more satisfying than the last post ;) I loved all the baking! In fact I am a little inspired now and desperate to make some of those gorgeous snowflakes. Sounds like you have been busy and will be busy. Have fun!

You're slowly getting back to normal after your whirlwind holiday which sounded like a blast. Good to have you back. Love following your antics. Love those snowmen biscuits. I'll be trying them. xx

Let the taste testing begin!

You do live in a lovely area--it looks a lot like Central California with the rolling hills. Our brown hills have just started turning green for winter!

Your new ornies are darling.

Rhiannon is obviously not eating any of her beautiful cookies :) The snowmen are too cute!

All those cookies look so yummy! I'll have to get a start on my own baking soon. I have people waiting for the mince pies I make every year.
Your tree looks very lovely with the new ornaments. Love the Harrods bear.
I'm still surprised, even after living here my whole life, by how quickly our wide green spaces turn brown.
