Friends in Stitching swap.... and other stuff......

I recently participated in a my first swap for Friends in Stitching, the on line stitching group I belong to.....the  theme was Natalie Bird .....my  partner was Lynda who (clever thing) made this gift from a combination of two patterns, a sewing caddy and a block from one of Natalie's quilts...I love the fresh / bright fabrics Lynda has used (the main colour isn't quite as bright as the pic).....

Inside the caddy.......

These tools are just perfect as I have been playing with EPP again .....I think there is a bit of a challenge being set with the tiny hexies??

Thank you Lynda......perfect gift....beautifully made...I love it!!

While I was on the hunt for Natalie Bird patterns to stitch for my swap partner I found these two which I stitched over the last couple of weeks.......just need the frames now to finish them off.

I saw recently that Lenora at Elm Grove Patchwork had Di Ford's book, Primarily Quilts.....so a phone call later and this was on the way....arriving just the day after it was posted...can't complain about that service!...and what a fantastic book!!  Love Love Love it!

Still on the subject of books....I came back to my desk at work the other day to find one of the library girls had left this for me.......they know I like Jennifer's books and always look out for one I haven't read......(can't complain about that service either) :)

While my sister was here we spent a couple of hours wanding around the Wohlers store in Tanunda......I found a new (to me) "toy".......metal, non stick egg poacher that hooks over the side of the saucepan...and yields perfect poached eggs that just slip out on to the toast with no sticking.......and I do love a good poached egg (or two!).

I had stitching with the girls today but will leave that for another post...have some great pics to share.....!

'Til next time...........................Lorraine

Lynda has done a great job on your gift, and so have you on the stitcheries. I may have to look out for that book myself.

Ah a hearty breakfast followed by some stitching and a good read, what a perfect Sunday! I have read that book, but found The Wedding QUilt by same author at the library Friday...cannot believe I missed one, they are good reads. I want to get my hands on Di's book but my list of WIP demands I wait!
