It's about time!

Yes, it's about time I posted something on this blog which has been sadly neglected while February passed me by and March  just marched right in.......

Work has been busy and I have also been working on some secret stitching so haven't got a lot to show in the way of projects completed or being worked on........I did make some pot holders for a friend yesterday ......

Caught up with the stitch 'n bitch girls yesterday.......Cheryl had some old knitting books that she bought along.....just check out the knitted underwear.....will be whipping some of these up for this winter!!

Loved this one.....Comforts for Sea, Land, Air and Hospital Use!!

..........and out of that book came this gem.........yep....a knitted cast cover with a thousand buttons on it....I guess it begs the question...why??

And this is for my gorgeous friend......A Cardy named Alison!  Very demure!! Just like it's namesake.... :)

It was lovely to catch up with the girls, it seems an age since we were last all together!

As I was leaving the house to walk Rose yesterday I was lucky enough to have the sun catch this web before I walked through it.....the builder of it had strung it  across the path .right in my path.... When Mark and Terri arrived home I got this pic...and that was about as close as Mark would come to it.....he has a fear of spiders and wasn't getting too close even though the builder and architect was nowhere to be seen.....

A couple of weeks ago I bought a pattern for a small quilt with Dresden plates......I misread the pattern and ended up with this....

when it should have been the one on the right.......just a slight difference!!

The small one is supposed to go inside a larger Dresden with rounded scallops......but I figure I will change the pattern a bit....since I cut enough pieces to make the required number of "small" dresdens, which will now become the large dresdens.....yes, that makes sense doesn't it! (that was a statement, not a question btw)

so on that note, I will leave this and go make myself some dinner....it's been lovely chatting again!

'Til next time.................Lorraine

Nice knitted underwear – but I’ll pass on breaking out the knitting needles to make some I think!

Double Dresden’s eh? Its too early in the morning to work out exactly what you said and exactly what you were supposed to end up with but Im sure it’ll be very pretty when you sort it all out!

I'm sure those knitted garments were once the height of fashion! Might leave you with the knitted underwear though. I love your dresdens. Great fabrics, and love the idea of the smaller one inside the large one. Unfortunately I didn't see the web on my morning walk today.....at least the spider wasn't home!

I’m not sure I followed the dresden statement but no matter what, I do love your fabrics! :-D

Not sure I like the idea of wooly underwear but good to see you stitching and laughing again! Take care

Those older pattern books are a scream! Somehow I don't think my underwear requires a name. Ew.

Lovely Dresden, it'll work out somewhere else, ha ha.

Don't care for spiders myself, have to watch particularly between the poinsettia and the avocado tree--there's a BIG brown garden spider that likes that spot!
