A little finish!

Last weekend I cut out hexis and started Brigitte Giblin's Hexagon Dilly-Bag - it took me ages to pick fabrics for it - and finally made a start last weekend.....

Managed a bit of stitching in the evenings and finished it today.......the cord I have used is probably a bit heavy, but it was what I had on hand, and once I got to that stage I wanted it done - I can always pick up some lighter cord during the week...maybe :)  I like it and even better, it is finished and I can use it!

I joined in with Brigitte's Trip Around the World challenge on FB a couple of weeks ago, and am about to start on round 9 - the details for the next stage have been posted, but for now I will get on and finish the first stage....not sure how big this will be - perfect cushion size atm!

I am delving deep into the cupboard for some of these fabrics....the little bees have been in there for quite some time now.....so thought it about time I used some of them up........

I had a different fabric picked (and cut) for Round 9, but of course have changed my mind and will go with the blue....well, I think I will.........

That's about it for this week's stitching efforts.

My online stitching group is having a swap - the theme is "ugly fabric" - choose one and send it to your partner who makes a mini with the ugly fabric in it and (here's the rub)...sends it back to you!  hmmmmm.....again, much delving into the fabric stash to try and find an "ugly" fabric......what defines an "ugly" fabric???  In my case I have quite a few "OMG what WAS I thinking" fabrics, but they aren't necessarily ugly.....I did come up with a winner though.....I am pretty sure I didn't buy this....if I did I don't remember it!  (that's my story and I am sticking to it)...although I see potential for some fussy cutting here.......maybe I will try and find another one to send....?!?

btw it is much brighter pink than in this pic....

'Til next time...........Lorraine

I am enjoying the TAW project too. I like your "ugly" fabric. I see a purse or lots of fussy cutting from it.

Send that fabric to me, I like it! Your TAW looks great, I am thinking mine might be a large cushion cover too!

Your dilly bag looks fantastic Loz. Kind of makes me want to make one ( if only I didn’t have 8 bloody orange peels screaming at me to be finished !)

Your trip around the world is looking pretty darn awesome too. How big is it going to get ( or is that part of the mystery too?)
