Clichéd I know.....but Spring really has sprung!

We have gone from temps which struggled to make it into double figures to balmy sunny days in the low 20's! ......the tree next door has gone from a few blossoms on sticks to this almost overnight.....

the trees out the front of the house are a little slower, but with a few more sunny days they won't be far behind......

The bees are having a field day and they don't seem to mind if the flowers belong to weeds (as these do!)....

So you can tell I haven't been very busy in the sewing room AGAIN.....but I did spend a day stitching with the NTFW girls yesterday.....there was cake (of course) lots of chat and laughs and it was great to catch up with everyone.....

......since we originally got together to stitch the Farmers Wife quilt it was nice to see that not all of the group have fallen by the wayside into the Not the Farmers Wife (NTFW) category.....(guilty as charged...I think I have only done one or two blocks.....but you never know....I might get back to it ...one day!)

here is Kaye's version......a flimsy ready for hand quilting......love it!

Shay sat next to me and was busy stitching  down the binding on this beauty......a gift for a friend I believe.....

I worked on a Gail Pan stitchery with Cottage Garden thread Plum Pudding, which is my favourite I think....

Claire (having just finished three baby quilts) went back to hand quilting another Gail Pan design, Berries and Bluebirds.....

....and Kris who we haven't seen for a while finished this wall hanging - started in a class with D-Crow (one half of the Quilted Crow Girls duo) earlier this year......Love this!  It's called Aunt Betina's Parlour.....pretty sure this has to be added to my "to do" list!

I did manage to finish the stitchery .....called "In the Spring" - rather appropriate given the title of this post!

so that's about it......another weekend over......another month  behind us - and winter is over.....Yikes!

'til next time.........................Lorraine

Nice show and tell, very cute stitchery. Is that a brown variegated thread or just my screen? I am in Love with those vibrant pink blossoming trees, need to find out what they are called cos I want one, they have been stunning this last week. Beautiful weather but was glad to hear the rain on the roof overnight.

Hasn’t the weather been utterly glorious the last week ? However I see Spring may have just been teasing us given the forecast for rain the next few days.

Kay has joined the illustrious ranks of the finishing crew. Don’t know if you can really trust someone who manages to finish a Farmers Wife quilt. Pretty sure anyone who manages to pull that off must be a witch or something.

Very impressed to see Chris' crow girls project she thought mine would be finished before her's , mines stuffed at the back of the UFO pile, been doing a few personal projects so it is a low priority.

Was a wonderful weekend though the first day of spring was pretty crappy.
