Home but still travelling on this blog......

I reluctantly left London and Rhi and Wade last Sunday (there may have been tears!) and arrived home Monday night.  Great flights - uneventful and no delays (and I do like 'uneventful' when it comes to flying!) I had an amazing holiday and there are still a few instalments left, as I am still in the Midlands (post wise) with a few more to come.

So....where was I .....yes, Ironbridge and on to Blists Hill.....

Before I move on to Blists Hill, a working Victorian town a couple of pics of Ironbridge I meant to include....

The table of tolls on the toll house.....

Not sure if there were too many takers for pickling and bottling ....

and on to Blists Hill.....everyone seemed to be enjoying their work.....

The pharmacy also housed the dental surgery......not sure if I would have enjoyed a visit there even though it was noted that teeth were "carefully extracted"!

the drapery - the seamstress was busy making bonnets and aprons....beautiful displays of lace, ribbons etc......

Just missed happy hour at the pub.....complete with sing-along around the piano....a forerunner of karaoke I guess.....

a patriotic rag rug in one of the cottages....

the end of another day's work for these guys......

the local school teacher in her classroom.....

...and the blacksmith hard at work.....

the remains of the old blast furnaces look a little surprised and sad I think....

who doesn't want/need pure wool underwear that doesn't shrink!

It's nice to relive the visit through these photos as I post them.  After a wonderful few days with Gail in the Midlands I caught the train to London to begin the next part of the UK adventure!

'Til next time..................Lorraine

Thanks for taking us along! So glad you got some quality time with Rhi and Wade. And I agree with uneventful being a good way to fly
