A bit of a blur....

These past few weeks have been just that....a blur! I was planning a couple of weeks off but found we had a quite high profile couple coming to visit us here in the Barossa so my plans changed a bit so I could help organise the event....

One thing I didn't cancel was a visit to Melbourne followed by a weekend in Clunes for Quiltessentially Clunes .......I caught up with Alison and Janette at the airport where Sue picked us up and we set off for some retail therapy....first stop was Cutting Cloth....

Janette doing her best to blend in.....

Kellie and Jane who looked after us and spent quite a bit of time "cutting cloth" ........and folding it beautifully into little bags which we loaded into the car and went to lunch to plan the rest of the day....

After lunch we made our way to Amitie....Where Alison was on the hunt for a couple of fabrics for this work in progress......

I was too busy shopping (and talking) to take any other pics....suffice to say there were more little bags loaded into the car before we called it a day - we had all had dark o'clock starts that morning and wanted to be fresh for dinner with the girls that evening! The next day we loaded the car, picked up another passenger and locked in Clunes as our destination......via Ballan to visit Millrose Cottage....

First stop, the Liberty room.....

Conferring....decisions.....decisions.....

We arrived in Clunes and settled into our digs......There are no words......

And enjoyed the next couple of days stitching with Judy, Rae and Christine .....

There was also time for a bit of exploring......

Fabulous weekend...great company....many laughs...and even a bit of stitching....! Sunday afternoon it was back to Melbourne for an early flight the next morning to get back to work to prepare for our special guests!

More on that next time......

I love Kellie’s designs! How lucky you are to be able to visit her shop. The patterns are a hard to come by here.

What a great post! full of wonderful photos. I am very envious of you girls having such wonderful quilt supply shops and selection of fabrics.
I did laugh at the prison window :-)

The quilt at the top of the page is beautiful, I'd love to know what the pattern is called, it looks rather familiar.

Thanks for sharing it all Loz!
