The Visit.....and beyond....

The couple coming to visit us was Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall....we had a few weeks to prepare and the preparations took up quite a chunk of my workday for that time.....It was an interesting exercise.

The day of the visit was beautiful weather...perfect for those waiting to see the Royals....I didn't have time for photos...just a couple while we were setting up....

The horse is the work of local sculptor who makes amazing pieces from scrap....a very impressive young man!

The special guests arrived...greeted those who had turned up to see them...stayed a while and then left for their next stop....phew...it all went perfectly and in no time the crowds were gone, the barriers were down and collected, the band packed up and left, displays were dismantled, the horse was loaded on a trailer and taken home and within a short space of time you wouldn't have known anything had taken place. Drinks all round for the team.....and off home to pack for a few days off!

Off to Ballarat and another round of fabric shops and catching up with friends old and new along with a visit to Sovereign Hill....I think the last time I was there was about 30 years ago so a few things had changed! Well worth a visit if you are in the area....

While in Ballarat I stayed with Jan (Little Red Hen) and her hubby - always great hosts. Jan came home with me for a few days so I played tour guide .....always nice to see your home town(s) as a tourist now and then....not many pics taken, too busy at the local Farmers Market, lunching and even a spot of shopping among other things....lots to see and do....

Angaston.....

And of course no visit to the Barossa is complete without a visit to Maggie Beer's Farm Shop....

All too soon it was time to take Jan to Port Elliot to stay with Leanne and time for me to go back to work. Time to get back to normal programming....but wait .....Christmas is coming....lots to do to get ready...some secret sewing that must be finished and sent off for a swap....no time to waste!

Til next time......

Hi Loz, love your Sov. Hill pics. Will be going there soon for their annual Christmas shopping night. Loved my trip too, thanks again for your hospitality and for being such a good and very obliging tour guide. We enjoyed your company as always, shame time was so limited that you missed out on a walk around the lake. Another time - any time. xx
