Rhiannon and Wade invited me to join them on a 24 hour coach tour to Villers-Bretonneux for Anzac Day...so on the evening of 24 April we left London and headed for Dover on the first leg of the adventure.....
I should say that at about this time it started to rain.....but it didn't dampen our spirits as we found a seat and waited for the service to begin....the dawn service was beautiful...poignant.... and as always the last post bought tears to my eyes....
Back to the coach for a tour of some of the battlefields......
..........and lunch
......before heading back to Calais where we caught the train across the Channel and on to London.....24 hours and we were shattered! But a great experience.....and fantastic to share it with Rhi and Wade. Special memories!
Back in London and I prepared for the trip home the next weekend.....packing and repacking to fit a few purchases in!
The day before I flew home we went in to the city and spent some time at the Tower Bridge....
What a fabulous holiday - great memories but time to go home and save for the next adventure!

Oh Loz............how very special to be able to attend the 100th Anniversary...........big day but so worth it......
I had no idea you spent Anzac day in such a special way. Very impressive. Im sure it was an incredibly moving ceremony . This would have been a highlight of the trip for me!
How special. It's on my bucket list to spend an Anzac day in Gallipoli & Villiers-Bretoneux. In one of you photo's is a bullet shaped building with patterns that twist around, curious to know what it is? Hugs,xx

This looks like a wonderful trip. Lovely photos too. How special to be there on Anzac Day. Some wonderful memories have been created for you. I hope to get there one day. My mum had to give DNA 18 mths ago as they found some remains that belonged to her Uncle.
