Not a Bad (Bag) Morning's Work...(Play!!)

After a really frustrating week last week in which I didn't manage to get much stitching done this morning I wasn't distracted by housework or other chores and headed straight for the sewing room....The morning promised some wild weather and the hail was coming down outside as I made my way upstairs.....Mark was up early as he is off on school camp for the first three days of this week....a surfing camp!!......wild winds and big swell predicted!! I am sure by the time they get there the weather will have calmed down a bit...well I hope so anyway!

Anyhoo .....I digress.................I was determined to get some sewing done this week and after finishing the bag for Jo yesterday I started cutting out the pieces for this bag which was featured in the latest Homespun mag.....and oh how appropriate....it is called the Princess bag!!

.......so when I got into the sewing room all the pieces were cut ready to start stitching.......A couple of hours later and I have this:

Have to say I am pretty happy with the result!! and so nice to get something started and finished on the same day.....!!!

The stove has arrived and is ready to be connected - hopefully that will happen some time this afternoon......then the cupcakes and lamingtons will be happening...........and yes - there will be photographic evidence for those of you who may doubt that they will be made.....oh ye of litle faith!! LOL

......Oh a knock at the door and a very surprised parcel delivery lady - surprised to find me home I guess!.........so I interrupt this post - ripping open the packet......(I am sooooo impatient!).....

I have been on the look out for a project involving wool applique and spotted this Primitive Gatherings/Lisa Bongean design from Little Quilts - A Primitive Garden........

I also ordered some of the gorgeous Valdani threads - they are just divine!!

So back into the "cave" for me.....this weather is just perfect for stitching! The Prince has just arrived home with food - and a couple of parcels which arrived on Friday and had to be picked up from the Post Office........I will share later!!

'til next time............................Lorraine

That bag you made this morning looks FAB...I love it and it looks so chic...great for summer or maybe Melbourne Cup?......The weather is pretty rough this afternoon too so I might just stitch in front of the heater and sip hot tea ...have a great week.

Just love your new bag, very snazzy indeed, and that bag in the previous post is so cute. You have been a busy girl. I'd be interested to hear how the new thread stitches up.

I love the bag...beautiful. I love the fact that you didn't let yourself get "distracted by housework or other chores." I am going to have to tell myself that so I can work in some more sewing time. Delightful post!

So tell me are you just getting the pattern or the kits and how many of those threads did you get they do look yummy, but I don't think I should sign up for another BOM just yet and as it is for 2 years might be a bit steep.

Hi Lorraine! Great bags and great to have finishes! I'm always tickled if I can start and finish something in the same day. Your new wool project is gorgeous. I've had my eye on it for quite sometime but just simply can't spend money on that. I too, LOVE those Valdani threads. They are awesome for punch needle.

Ilove that black and white bag! Good luck with the baking. When we first moved here this house didn't have an oven. After a couple of ovenless months we all went crazy when our new oven arrived. It was a bakefest!!! Yummmm...
