Happy Happy Holidays..................

Christmas is over for another year.......after a big build up I got to Christmas Eve and heaved a sigh of ....."what isn't done...isn't done".......and relaxed!
I waited until Christmas morning to open my SSCS parcel....thanks to Chookyblue for organising the swap......and to my swap partner, Mary who sent this cute bag and two fat quarters - along with the stitchery ornament I opened earlier.......

After our present opening we travelled to Rhiannon & Wade's house for lunch......we all contributed to the meal.....the Prince and I were in charge of the prawns, cherries and the Christmas cake.......Rhiannon was a little concerned the meal might be missing those ingredients when she phoned and we were going "cross country".....short cutting through the myriad of dirt roads between here and the main highway to the city.........the Prince is renowned for never taking the main thoroughfare when there is a dirt road available.....it makes for an interesting drive (usually!)

......we did arrive safely and spent a very relaxing and enjoyable day - the boys played cricket between courses and due to the small kitchen which made it crowded with any more than two people I couldn't help with the dishes....drat! There were the usual questionable decisons in the cricket.....and Wade gave an excellent bowling display....with beer in one hand ..... ball in the other.......talented!!! Later in the afternoon we moved on to Shane's (eldest son) house....he ususally travels to be with his in-laws for Christmas so it was great to have the opportunity to catch up with everyone at his place this year. The boys were in kid-heaven playing on the trampoline that Santa had delivered.....if he was late to your place it is because he had trouble assembling it!! LOLOL.....All in all it was a fab day - I hope yours was as enjoyable.

The kids outdid themselves this year and shopped at the Patchwork Apple for my gifts! ....thanks Jane for your guidance when Rhiannon visited......!! pics in another post.......

Ryley finally got her quilt.....

I do hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas.......I am having my traditional lazy Boxing Day .....watching the cricket, the start of the Sydney - Hobart yacht race...the jigsaw is ready to start and I have a book (The Book Thief by Markus Zusak) at hand....all set for doing very little!!

'til next time..................Lorraine

That is a sweet bag! Those handles just make it look so cute! Oh, and Jane did a good job all round I think. She helped my sister out too!

Love the dirt road bit. Bradley and Neil have more than one thing in common!

Happy Holidays! Very cute quilt. I, too have The Book Thief that's been in my stack of books to read. Have you read I Am The Messenger by the same author?

Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas, so nice to be able to catch up with all the family. I love Christmas, but there is something special about Boxing Day too, I think we were in much the same place. I love the bag you received, and I bet Riley loved her quilt too. Love and Best wishes for the new year.

Oooh I love that quilt and teh bag... I have read four, yes FOUR books since christmas, two elm creek books (I find them a tad predictible ) can read them in an afternoon, Dexter (oooh I love those books) and The Silent Country (Di Morrissey - also a tad predictible)..
Maybe if I read half as much I'd have twice as much time to sew????

Happy New year to you Loz!
