Australia Day 2010

Breakfast x 1,000................

I am winding down after this morning's Australia Day event.....I didn't personally cook the 1,000 breakfasts...the local Rotary club did a great job of doing that.......
We made a few changes to the event this year and I think the entertainment for the kids was appreciated!
Coloured pencils x 500 and Aussie themed colouring pages .....check.......ready to go.......
Balloons..check...ready......
One of the library staff volunteered to man the balloon sculpting table........wonder if she regrets that now??? She was helped out by another staff member and the boss's wife.....thanks girls you did a brilliant job........!! Hats were the order of the day.......along with flowers and swords for the boys!
There were also face painters who were kept busy all morning...... my mind is already ticking over with ideas for 2011! Perfect weather...not as hot as predicted which is a good thing for all the outdoor activities planned for today......I am watching the cricket and tennis and enjoying a cold drink....about to start on the binding of Lilly's quilt so I can give it to her Nanna tomorrow. Speaking of Nanna's .....I will probably be indulging in a Nanna nap later this afternoon!
'Til next time................Lorraine

Looks like a great day! Busy, busy, busy! Ours was relatively serene in comparison.

I remember I volunteered to do face painting at the kindy family fun night when Daniel was 4. 2 hours of sheer hell. The worst were the pusshy parents when they had to wait while there kids got free face painted by 4 amateurs and kept pushing there kids in front of others. Breakfast looks yummy and looks like everyone had a wonderful time again...

By the sounds of it I think you deserved an extra long nanna nap! Hope you managed to get the binding sticthed down in between shut eye.

OOOH, I want some of those darling little Aussie flags on toothpicks!! I seriously doubt I could find them here in the USofA...Seems like you had every group covered in the fun department and it was a rousing success. Glad it was happy and I hope you did get that nap after all :)
